asmith@medicinehatnews.com The Southeast Alberta Home and Leisure Trade Show is right around the corner, and this year aims to be bigger and better than ever. Over 175 vendors signing up has resulted in a completely packed Cypress Centre, says events manager Brad Tajiri. “We have businesses from the city, from Cypress County, the Brooks-Newell region, and expanding out to throughout Alberta, Saskatchewan, British Columbia and even as far as Ontario,” said Tajiri. He highlighted the show as a fantastic opportunity to get a head start on any spring or summer renovation projects, as they will have everything from roofing and windows to landscaping companies, as well as real estate services for those looking to start fresh in a new home. However, says Tajiri, far more than just homes are on the mind, as he assures the show will have something for everyone. “We have some great leisure options as well. So we have two-wheel toys, four-wheel toys, gas-powered and battery-powered. We have some great travel options,” said Tajiri. “We also have bouncy castles and ice cream and drinks for the kids, and even for our older guests, we have care homes and mobility aids and dentures at the show.” As always, the event will have a collection of food vendors, and representatives from the city to answer any questions residents may have, including about the upcoming election. With a completely full slate of vendors and pleasant weather forecasted, Tajiri recommends that those interested in visiting purchase their tickets online at Mhtradeshow.ca, where not only can they secure their space, but tickets are one dollar cheaper than at the door. “The discount is sponsored by Mint car wash, and everyone that does come to the show as well gets a half price coupon for a car wash, which essentially makes your admission into the show free,” said Tajiri. A full list of vendors, as well as a map, is also available online for those inclined to plan their days ahead. The show will run from noon to 8 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. 12
