The Hounds had two home games on the final weekend of the regular season, beating the East Kootenay Avalanche 7-4 on Saturday before topping the Wheatland Braves 13-2 on Sunday. In Saturday’s win, Diesel Bishop had a hat trick with an assist, Raylan Johnson had a goal and two assists and Weston Haslbeck had a pair of goals. Became Sprunger had a goal and an assist, Dawson Ressler made 23 saves. Over the Braves on Sunday, Bishop again led the offence, tallying four goals and two assists. Haslbeck also scored four times, notching an assist and all three of Haysten Biech, Johnson and Hudson Gilchrist had a goal and three assists. Sprunger found the back of the net and had two assists, Teddy Maser had three helpers. Blade Schreiner made 26 saves. The U13AA Hounds (32-2) host the South divisional playoff tournament this weekend, starting Thursday at the Hockey Hounds arena. They’ll face the Avalanche on Thursday at 4:30 p.m. to open the tournament. U15 The U15AA South East Athletic Club Tigers were in regional playoffs this weekend with four round robin games before a playoff Sunday. They kicked things off with a pair of games Thursday, starting with a 2-0 win over the Lethbridge Hurricanes. Hunter Munro made 14 saves for the shutout, Everett Ward scored both Medicine Hat goals. They lost the second game Thursday, falling 9-3 to the Okotoks Oilers. Finn Willerton had a goal and an assist, both Brock Schneider and Dylan Dick scored solo markers. Brayden Tschritter started the game, making 32 saves. Munro also made two saves. The Tigers won 3-2 Friday over the Wheatland Warriors. Liam Jaspers, Schneider and Conner Hofer each scored, with the latter notching the game winner. Munro made 37 saves for the win. SEAC lost 4-2 on Saturday to the East Kootenay Avalanche. Ward score twice, Tschritter made 40 saves. They lost 8-3 to Okotoks on Sunday in the playoff matchup. Ward tallied a pair of goals, Jaspers had a solo marker and both Tschritter and Munro split duties in net, making 16 and 10 saves respectively. The U15AAA SEAC Tigers had a pair of weekend games ahead of the postseason. They opened the weekend with a 4-2 loss Friday to the Okotoks Oilers. Cooper Craven scored twice and Paxton Smigelski made 21 saves. They rebounded with an 8-3 win Saturday over the Oilers. Carter Gilchrist scored twice with three assists, Chase Droeske had a pair of goals. Lucas Fisher had a goal with four assists and both Kovann Chisholm and Lincoln Bensler had a goal. Both Macen Ibach and Cole Siewert had a pair of assists, Smigelski made 36 stops. The U15AAA SEAC Tigers (10-20-0-3-1) face the Calgary Northstars to start their playoffs. Playing on the round Wednesday before hosting Calgary on Friday at the Kinplex. U16 The U16AA Hounds had four regional round robin games this weekend. They opened the weekend with a pair of games Thursday, first losing 4-1 to the West Central Tigers. Alexander Schabler scored the lone Medicine Hat goal, Trenton Wilson made 38 saves. The Hounds rebounded with a 3-3 draw later in the day with the Airdrie Lightning. Jaxon Martin had a goal and an assist, Noah Henderson and Gavin Perry scored as well. Connor Schmaltz made 54 saves. The Hounds lost 13-1 Friday to the Okotoks Oilers. Caleb Whyte Duheme scored the only goal for Medicine Hat, both Schmaltz and Wilson worked in net with a combined 40 saves. They finished the weekend and season with a 5-2 loss Saturday to the Wheatland Raiders. Martin and Whyte Duheme both scored for Medicine Hat, Schmaltz made 46 saves. U17 The U17AAA SEAC Tigers hosted a pair of home games, splitting the weekend. They lost 6-3 Saturday to the Calgary Northstars before topping the Okotoks Oilers 5-4 on Sunday. In Saturday’s loss, Dane Friedt had a goal and an assist, both Nolan Peppler and Kane Bishop had a goal. Kayden Van Ham and Carson Jerome split duties in net, making 21 and 18 saves respectively. Friedt led the offence in Sunday’s win, with two goals and two assists. Illya Khazov had three assists, Logan Neuls had a goal and an assist and both Matteo Sartore and Kade Dickie each scored. Jerome made 33 saves. The U17AAA SEAC Tigers (12-12-0-4-5) finish the regular season on the road Saturday against the Calgary Flames. U18 The U18AA Hounds finished their regular season with a lone game over the weekend. They beat the Wheatland Chiefs 8-3 on Saturday. Davin Togerson had two goals with an assist, Kieran Wyrostok had a goal and an assist and five Hounds (Mavric Ward, Slade McFadzen, Randen Collier, Jackson Brassard and Parker Kienzle each scoring a goal. Kolter Gans made 12 saves through 40 minutes, Kayne Wright made nine saves in the third period. The U18AA Hounds (22-8-0-0-4) had four regional round robin games this week, all on the road. They face the Wheatland Chiefs and Lethbridge Hounds on Thursday, take on the Okotoks Oilers on Friday before facing the Golden Suns on Saturday. 45
