SAHA adding U15 prep program for academy’s 4th team

The South Alberta Hockey Academy will be adding another team to its CSSHL roster.

The Dunmore-based hockey academy has been granted approval by the Canadian Sport School Hockey League to operate a U15 Prep team for the upcoming 2025-26 season.

SAHA operates U18 men’s and women’s teams, and is in its second season with a U17 men’s program.

SAHA announced Wednesday it is now accepting applications for a U15 prep ID camp, running April 4-6 at the Big Marble Go Centre. More information can be found on the academy’s social media.

The local U15 prep team was one of six teams granted approval by the CSSHL, which has expended to 130 teams and 38 member programs.

“Since our inception the CSSHL’s goal has been supporting Hockey Canada’s objective to facilitate the integration of Grade 8-12 education-based hockey/accredited school programming within the Hockey Canada programming model. The addition of these teams allows for that goal to continue with greater retention in our member programs,” said CSSHL COO Kevin Goodwin in a release.
