@MedicineHatNews A Medicine Hat man facing weapons and drug charges has been denied bail, but now has an attorney. Christopher James Lane, 42, was arrested on Feb. 2 after Medicine Hat police said a search warrant turned up two restricted firearms and quantities of cocaine, fentanyl, methamphetamine, heroin and gamma-hydroxybutyric acid (GHB) at a resident in the city centre. Defence lawyer Carla Lebanzon told the court she was engaged only this week and will need several weeks to review the case. It was adjourned until Feb. 27. Federal prosecutors told provincial Court of Justice at Medicine Hat that they plan to proceed by way of indictment on five charges of drug trafficking, unauthorized possession of a firearm, possessing a stolen firearm and other stolen property. 6
