jtubb@medicinehatnews.com@ReporterTubb Medicine Hat Tigers head coach and general manager Willie Desjardins provided updates on the WHL’s club’s injury statuses. Desjardins says 19-year-old forward Andrew Basha will be out of the lineup long-term with a lower body injury. The Calgary Flames prospect will have the injury checked out, with more information to come from that. Basha previously missed 10 games this season with injury, putting up nine goals and 29 points in 23 games. Forward Cayden Lindstrom remains with the Columbus Blue Jackets while rehabbing his back injury and the surgical procedure he underwent in November. Desjardins says if all goes perfect with the rehab, the 18-year-old forward could be skating hard come February with a lineup return to be determined from there. Forward Carter Cunningham is day to day and could return to the lineup next week. He missed the last weekend of action after leaving early in the Tigers’ 4-3 overtime loss at Calgary to the Hitmen on Dec. 29. Forward Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll is expected back in Medicine Hat at the end of this week, he had not returned from his hometown of Salt Lake City, Utah since the Holiday break. Desjardins says they’ll need to get him up to game speed but will have him back in the lineup soon. Gordon-Carroll last played on Dec. 7, missing time with a lower-body injury. Goaltender Harrison Meneghin was a full participant in practice on Monday and Tuesday, Desjardins says he will backup Jordan Switzer tonight when the Tigers host the Prince Albert Raiders at Co-op Place. Meneghin has not played since Nov. 20, he left that game in the late stages of the first period with a lower body injury that held him off the ice until after the holiday break. According to the WHL Weekly Report, goaltender Zach Zahara has signed with the Brooks Bandits in the BCHL. The 19-year-old played one game for the Tigers since being re-acquired on Dec. 12, making 27 saves in a 4-1 loss at Lethbridge to the Hurricanes. 15
