asmith@medicinehatnews.com The opening for applications for the Community Impact Award, as hosted by the Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta, is just around the corner, and CFSEA wants to help organizations in the community to put their best face forward. On Jan. 6, the same day as applications open, CFSEA will host a grant-writing workshop at noon to outline all grant details and how to apply. Community Impact Award offers one grant up to $35,000, designed for charities with innovative, new project ideas “that show creativity and leadership in supporting a vibrant, healthy and caring community,” says CFSEA. Projects eligible for the grant must align with the 2023 Vital Signs Report and focus on one of the following areas: Work & Economy, Connection & Belonging, and Basic Needs including Food, Housing and Health. Grants are then awarded based on potential impact and fund availability. All applications must be in by 4:30 p.m. on Feb 6. Those interested are encouraged to register for the Community Impact Award Workshop, call 403-527-9038, or email grants@cfsea.ca to learn more. 8
