news@medicinehatnews.com Twenty-three-year-old Jessey Lang is facing numerous charges after allegedly fleeing from police in a stolen vehicle in Oyen last Saturday. RCMP say they responded to a report of a theft of a motor vehicle in process at approximately 8:30 p.m. While responding to the call, a suspect was seen attempting to flee in the stolen vehicle and then hit a parked vehicle, causing significant damage to both motor vehicles. Following the collision the suspect reportedly fled the scene on foot, however RCMP say they were able to identify and arrest Lang early Sunday morning. Lang has been charged with several offences, including theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, failing to remain at the scene of a collision, mischief over $5,000, four counts of uttering threats, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, careless driving, stunting and operating a motor vehicle without a subsisting licence. In a press release RCMP say, “Thankfully, no one was injured during this incident.” Lang was remanded into custody following a Judicial Interim Release Hearing, and is expected to appear at the Alberta Court of Justice in Hanna today. 8
