One of the only spots of colour in the dead of winter, the Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is inviting residents to take a closer look at the exciting world of evergreens.

“We will be talking about evergreen trees and shrubs. What makes them special, what role they play in our environment, their introduction to the prairies and more. It will be a lovely winter walk talking about some of Canada’s most iconic trees,” said park interpreter Rhys Mah Poy.

Taking place shortly after Christmas on Dec. 28 from 2-3 p.m, this will likely be a cold-weather walk, so all interested in attending are asked to dress for the conditions, and be prepared to spend time outside.

The walk will be meeting at the far end of Police Point Park, at the bridge near the highway. Further details, including precise co-ordinates for the starting point, are available online at natureline.info.
