@MedicineHatNews Four people were killed in a crash on Highway 3 east of Grassy Lake on Tuesday morning, the RCMP detachment in Taber reported on Wednesday. The three-vehicle collision occurred between Range Road Nos. 143 and 144, about 23 kilometres east of Taber. A male and female in their 80s, travelling in a Dodge pickup from Robsart, Sask., were both declared deceased at the scene, along with a 38-year-old Taber man who was driving a GMC truck. His passenger, a 20-year-old male, died later in hospital at Taber. A male driver of the third vehicle, a Ford Escape, received minor injuries. The highway was closed for several hours during the day. An RCMP collision reconstructionist is still investigating the cause of the collision. Rural robbery RCMP officers in Bassano say a rural homeowner was hit with a crowbar and received minor injuries while trying to stop a car theft on the property Monday. Mounties say the incident happened near Highway 1 and Range Road 205, east of Cluny, at about 9 a.m. on Dec. 9. The male suspect is believed to have been hitchhiking in blue jeans, black coat and yellow back pack. A search of the area did not locate this individual who RCMP say is in the age range of 50 to 60 years old. 12
