Waves Swim Club races in Calgary

Medicine Hat’s Waves Swim Club was in Cow Town over the weekend.

The local swim club sent nine swimmers to compete against 12 other swim clubs at the Sandy Ferris Food Bank Challenge, returning with 11 medals.

One of their bronze medals came in a 15 and over mixed freestyle relay, with Kaden Goffinet, Elizabeth Humphreys, Isabel Unreiner and William Miller swimming.

The other Waves’ results are:

Sunai Motsi (7): Finished 51st in 100m Back, 52nd in 50m Breast, 63rd in 50m Free, 64th in 100m Free and 79th in 50m Back.

Ellis Anstey (7): Finished 36th in 50m Breast, 44th in 100m Back, 49th in 50m Free, 50th in 100m Free and 60th in 50m Back.

Zoe Peterson (8): Finished 53rd in 100m Back, 67th in 50m Free and 100m Free and 75th in 50m Back.

Ivana Motsi (10): Finished 29th in 100m Back, 32nd in 100m Free, 45th in 50m Back and 50m Breast and 47th in 50m Free.

Isabel Miller (11): Finished fifth in 200m IM, seventh in 50m Breast (new 11-year-old female provincial festival time), 17th in 100m Back, 18th in 50m Free and 27th in 100m Free.

Elizabeth Humphreys (14): Finished second in 50m Breast, third in 100m Breast (14-year-old and 15-year-old provincial trials time and 15-year-old trials time), seventh in 50m Fly and 100m Fly, 12th in 50m Free and 16th in 100m Free.

Isabel Unreiner (14): Finished 10th in 50m Breast and 100m Breast, 11th in 100m Back, 15th in 200m Back, 18th in 100m Free, 20th in 50m Free, 22nd in 50m Fly and 26th in 50m Back.

Kaden Goffinet (16): Finished first in 50m Breast, second in 200m IM and 400m Free, third in 100m Back, fifth in 100m Free and 11th in 50m Free.

William Miller (16): Finished first in 100m Fly, 200m IM and 400m Free (16 and over provincial championship time), second in 50m Free, third in 100m Free and fifth in 50m Breast.
