SAHA’s U18 women’s team wins two of three over weekend

The South Alberta Hockey Academy women’s hockey team picked up a pair of wins this weekend.

They lost the first game of the weekend, falling 2-0 to OHA Edmonton on Friday.

Phoenix Buckler made 27 saves in the loss.

SAHA rebounded with a 3-2 win Saturday over the Northern Alberta Xtreme.

Kamryn Reiber had a goal and two assists, Sara Stefanic and Riley Gramlich each scored. Emma Skolney made 17 saves in the win.

They finished the weekend with a 4-3 overtime win over OHA Edmonton,

Gramlich scored 51 seconds into the overtime, also recording an assist in the game. Jaylee Skog, Emily Gerdevich and Reiber each scored. Both Taylor Crocker and Riley Bourque tallied a pair of assists. Hannah Palumbo had 27 saves.

SAHA’s women’s team (13-7-0-1) have one more game in December, heading to Edge on Dec. 19.

U18

SAHA’s U18 men’s team had just one game over the weekend, beating Pilot Mound 8-3 on Monday.

Josiah Jackson had two goals and an assist, Kingston Chisholm had a pair of goals and Ty Hynes had a goal and an assist. Luke Warrener, Cole Fisher and Brayden Ryan-MacKay each found twine. Cash Olson had four assists. Mattias Radke made 26 saves.

SAHA’s U18 men’s team (11-8-1-1) have a three-game road trip this week for their final games of December.

U17

SAHA’s U17 men’s team split a weekend of road games.

They kicked off the weekend with a 2-1 win Saturday over the Edge school.

Noah Alexander and Kutcher Aquila each scored for SAHA, Hunter Zawislak made 38 saves.

They lost 5-2 to Calgary International Hockey Academy on Sunday. Aquila scored twice and Ryker Klassen had a pair of assists. Zawislak made 26 saves.

SAHA’s U17 men’s team (8-10) have a pair of home games this weekend at the Big Marble Go Centre, hosting Calgary on Friday (7:45 p.m.) and Notre Dame on Saturday (3:15 p.m.).
