Claire was born on August 1st, 1936, in Russell, Manitoba and raised on the nearby family farm in Binscarth. She had scarlet fever, which kept her home at the end of her final year of high school; but she graduated on her merit. Afterwards, Claire taught on the Koostatak reserve and waitressed in Virden along with her sister, Evelina. It was at the restaurant that she met Jim and Evelina met Fred; they had a double wedding on April 21st, 1956. Claire and Jim lived in a trailer at the rig sites that Jim worked at, until she was expecting their 3rd child, and then they settled in Medicine Hat. After their 5th child was in school, Claire went to the University of Lethbridge where she achieved a Bachelor of Education with an Early Childhood major. She started teaching Grade 2 at Riverside School, then Webster Niblock, and ended her 15-year career at George Davison School when she retired in 1992. She was part of the Southern Alberta Early Childhood Education Council throughout her career. Following retirement, she became involved with the Alberta Retired Teacher’s Association. She was awarded a Lifetime Membership in the Association. Claire was committed to her family and her community. She volunteered through the church with breakfast at Elm Street School, and other venues. She also volunteered at the college, teaching English to exchange students. She and Jim were also long-time members of the Historical Society of Medicine Hat and District. All who knew Claire will miss her sense of humour, wit and generosity.
Her celebration of life will be held at First Assembly of God, 395 9 St SE on November 30th at 11:00am. Live Stream will be available at

ROBERT FULLER
1938 – ROBERT FULLER – 2024 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Aubrey Fuller, aged 86, who left this world peacefully on November 25, 2024. Born on November 6, 1938, in Summerland, British Columbia, Robert was a devoted husband, loving father, and cherished grandfather whose legacy will forever remain in the hearts of his family and friends. Robert’s life was marked by his steadfast love for his wife, Kathleen, to whom he was married for an incredible 63 years. Together, they built a life enriched with love, laughter, and shared dreams. They faced life’s challenges hand-in-hand, navigating the journey of marriage with devotion and a sharp sense of humor that brought joy to all who knew them. Robert was a proud father to his two daughters, Brenda (Peter) Daneyko and Carolin Heuer. He delighted in the company of his grandchildren, Matthew, Jack, Quinn, and Isabella, who were the light of his life. He is also survived by his loving brother, Larry (Cathy) Fuller and his sister, Pat (Don) Muldrew. His parents, John and Mary Fuller, along with his sister, Sharon Petty, preceded Robert in death. He was a man of many interests, finding joy in drawing, bowling, and fishing the simple pleasures that grounded him and connected him to nature and those he loved. As we remember Robert, let us celebrate the joy he brought into our lives, the laughter that echoed in his presence, and the love that will forever bind us. He will be deeply missed and quietly remembered by his beloved family and friends. There will be no formal service. For those wishing to honour his legacy, donations may be made to the Margery E. Yuill Cancer Centre, c/o Medicine Hat & District Health Foundation, 666 – 5th Street SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta T1A 4H6. Condolences may be sent through
