MHC’s health innovation program planning another summer of hires

A program launched earlier this year at the Medicine Hat College Centre for Innovation, known as Ci4, aimed at fostering the development of future leaders in health research and innovation, is now planning for its second summer of student hires.

The program, launched with a $100,000 grant for health-care students already registered in undergraduate programs who are interested in emerging technologies and cross-disciplinary research in the health-care field.

“Through industry driven research, students will have the chance to expand their knowledge, develop essential skills and establish valuable connections within Alberta’s health research and innovation community,” states a press release.

The college says it is committed to providing students with the resources and opportunities they need to thrive in health-cares field through the collaborative program that allows immersive summer learning opportunities.

“By connecting students from various disciplines to innovators in our region we are building a pipeline of talent, poised to address the health-care challenges of tomorrow,” said Chelsey Ehresman, manager of the Centre of Innovation. “While simultaneously bolstering local industry as they solve the challenges of today.”
