Upcoming nature walk at Police Point will delve into crucial role of lichens

The Medicine Hat Interpretive Program is seeking residents who want to learn about one of nature’s most unusual life forms, with the Learn About Lichen Nature Walk.

On Nov. 24, from 2-3 p.m, attendees will start in front of the Nature Centre and walk Police Point Park while learning all about a few of the different types of lichens that can be found in the area, and the important, but often underappreciated, roles they play in a healthy prairie ecosystem.

No registration is required for this free event, but as it is starting to get colder, those interested are advised to dress appropriately for the weather.
