Aerospace award goes to Edmonton-based company, beating out Hat submissions

An award for work in the Alberta aerospace industry has gone to a satellite imaging company over two entries from Medicine Hat.

Edmonton-based firm Wyvern received the ASTech Award in Aerospace at a ceremony in the provincial capital city. It employs high-resolution “hyperspectral imaging” to evaluate land quality and emissions for use in mining, reclamation, agricultural and other sectors.

Medicine Hat-based companies Qinitiq and Landing Zones had been nominated for the ASTech Awards, given to firms engaged in high tech development or processes in the province.
