The Medicine Hat Huff N Puffs 70+ senior slow pitch team brought home some hardware from the World Senior Games.
The local 70+ team finished second in the C Division at the Huntsman World Senior Games held in St. George, Utah from Oct.14-18. It’s the same tournament where the Huff N Puffs 55’s senior slow pitch team won gold.
They started the round robin off with a pair of losses on Oct. 14, falling 10-9 to the Sun City Warriors from Texas and 17-5 to Hanapa’a from Hawaii.
In the final game of the round robin the next day, their bats came alive with a 12-7 win over the Silver Streakers from California.
On Oct. 16, they strung together a pair of wins, beating Edmonton 13-12, overcoming an 8-0 deficit to do so. They followed that up with a 23-12 win in a rematch with the Silver Streakers.
The next day, the Huff N Puffs were beat up by the Rundy’s Legends, falling 24-5 in five innings.
On Oct. 18, the Huff N Puffs beat the California team 21-14, for a third win, punching a spot in the finals. They faced the Rundy’s Legend team and lost, 11-9 for the silver medal.
