The Rattlers’ men’s and women’s teams hosted the NAIT Ooks on Friday and the University of Alberta Augustana Vikings on Saturday at the Snake Pit.
MHC’s women’s team was the winner Friday night, beating the Ooks 70-46.
Jaida Gold had 23 points with four rebounds and three assists in the win, making a trio of three pointers. Breanna
O’Connor had 12 points Friday and led the Rattlers with another 12 points and five rebounds in Saturday’s 54-46 loss to Augustana.
The men’s team beat the Vikings Saturday 85-79. Jordan Biggar led the way with 31 points, knocking down two threepointer with seven rebounds. Cooper
Ward had a double-double, with 11 points and 13 rebounds.
They lost 84-80 to the Ooks on Friday, with Ward notching 21 points and 21 rebounds. Biggar had 13 points and 12 rebounds in the loss and Ethan Robinson also had 13 points, recording eight assists.
The men (2-2) and women (2-2) are both on the road this weekend, facing King’s University on Friday and the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves on Saturday.
Volleyball
MHC’s men’s and women’s volleyball teams were on the road over the weekend against NAIT and the University of Alberta-Augustana.
The men’s team lost in five sets Friday to NAIT (26-24, 33-31, 23-25, 24-26, 12-15) before beating the Vikings in four sets Saturday (25-20, 26-24, 23-25, 25-21).
Jordan McKee led the Rattlers in Friday’s loss with 24 kills, Sawyer Krebs recorded 11 kills. In the win Saturday, McKee again led the way with 20 kills.
The Rattlers’ women’s team dropped both matches, falling in four sets Friday (24-26, 25-22, 20-25, 19-25) and four sets Saturday (23-25, 25-19, 13-25, 25-27).
Against NAIT, Fayth Spencer led the Rattlers with 13 kills, Kadence Wiggins had 12 kills. In Saturday’s match, Wiggins had eight kills.
The men (1-3) and women (1-3) will host King’s University on Friday and the Northwestern Polytechnic Wolves on Saturday.
Hockey
The women’s hockey team had just one game this weekend, falling 3-2 in overtime Friday to the SAIT Trojans.
Airy Thomas and Mya Girard each scored for MHC, Anna Stewart made 34 saves.
The Rattlers (1-6) are on the road Saturday against Red Deer Polytechnic.
