A Medicine Hat man was killed Sunday night after a highway collision between his motorcycle and an SUV near Redcliff.

RCMP in the town and the Redcliff Fire Department say they responded to the crash, east of Boundary Road, at 5:13 p.m on Oct. 27.

The 66-year-old operator of the motorcycle was taken to Medicine Hat Regional Hospital with life-threatening injures and later died.

The driver of the SUV was not injured.

The highway remained closed for several hours as a collision analyst was brought in to assist the investigation, which is still ongoing.

RCMP say both vehicles were travelling in an eastbound direction.

The Redcliff RCMP is asking anyone who may have witnessed the collision, or may have dash camera footage from the time of the incident, to contact the local detachment at 403-548-2288.
