There are several spooky activities planned around the Hat leading up to Halloween next Thursday, here’s an eerie list of spine-chilling activities.
– Haunted Medicine Hat Trolley Tour runs tonight and Saturday from 7-8:30 p.m. and is organized by InnerSight.
– The Silver Buckle Haunted House opens tonight until Halloween and will offer all-ages hours for families and children this Sunday from 2-5 p.m. The Haunted House will be open for adults this Friday and Saturday from 6-9 p.m., and again Halloween eve from 6-9 p.m.
– Redcliff’s Haunted Greenhouse is now open nightly until Halloween. This Friday and Saturday it will be open from 6-11 p.m. On Sunday and throughout the rest of next week until Thursday night it will be open from 6-10 p.m.
– This Saturday there are several events planned beginning with The Great Pumpkin Smash hosted by the Esplanade Arts & Heritage Centre from 1-3:30 p.m. Costumes are encouraged at this free family event that will include live music, treats, themed activities and flying pieces of orange pumpkin skins.
– There are two Halloween pumpkin carving contests Saturday. Grit City Distillery is hosting its contest and Halloween trivia event Saturday afternoon from 2-4 p.m.
– As well, MT Nest Cafe & Market will host its contest a little later from 6- p.m. Carving tools will be provided but guests are asked to bring their own pumpkins. “Goolish drinks” and snacks will be available.
– For a spooky outdoor experience the Grasslands Naturalists are hosting a Forest of Fear: Haunted Forest Walk for teens and adults from 7-10 p.m. Visitors are asked to secure a time slot at the Nature Centre as pre,payment is required.
– Later on in the evening Saturday, Copper Coulee Casino will host live music by the Mike Clark Band during a “Boo’s & Blues” show beginning at 9 p.m. The casino will be not be permitting full face masks and face paint, however.
– On Sunday, the Medicine Hat Concert Band is hosting a performance beginning at 2 p.m. titled ‘Bewitched, Ghosted and Boo-Wildered’ that will spotlight the “spooky sounds of Halloween.” Cash-only tickets can be purchased at the door.
– For those looking for a classical scare, Travois Ale Works will host a screening of The Exorcist in its loft on Oct. 30 at 7 p.m. The adult movie night will feature popcorn, candy and fresh pints.
