U13AA Hounds sweep weekend of action on home ice

The U13AA Medicine Hat Hockey Hounds picked up a pair of wins over the weekend.

The Hounds hosted the Golden Suns on Saturday, winning 7-5.

Beckam Sprunger had two goals in the win, including the eventual game-winning, shorthanded goal in the third period. Heston Haslbeck had two goals and two assists, and Diesel Bishop tallied a goal with three helpers. Teddy Maser had a goal with an assist and Raylan Johnson had a goal with two assists. Blade Schreiner made 33 saves in the win.

The Hounds hosted the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Sunday, winning 7-2.

Sprunger scored twice with two assists, Maser added two goals as well. Johnson had a goal with an assist and both Bishop and Karter Smith found the back of the net. Dawson Ressler made 33 saves.

The U13AA Hounds (4-1) host the Central Alberta Selects on Saturday before heading on the road Sunday.

U15

The U15AAA South East Athletic Club Tigers split a pair of weekend games.

They lost 2-1 Saturday to the Wheatland Warriors and beat the Lethbridge Hurricanes 5-2 on Sunday.

Finn Willerton had the lone goal against the Warriors, Hunter Munro made 49 saves.

In the win Sunday, Maddox Mikkelson led the offence with a goal and two assists. Both Liam Jaspers and Dylan Dick had a goal with a helper, and Beckham Girletz found twine for a goal. Brayden Tschritter made 28 saves.

The U15AA Tigers (2-3-0-2) Host the West Central Tigers on Saturday at the Hockey Hounds Arena.

The U15AAA SEAC Tigers dropped a pair of games, falling 4-3 to the Airdrie Xtreme on Saturday and 7-0 to the Calgary Northstars on Sunday.

Airdrie scored the game winner with 43 seconds left in the contest Saturday. Macen Ibach had all three Tigers goals, while Paxton Smigelski made 32 saves in goal.

Against Calgary, Jake Druar made 43 saves in the shutout loss.

The U15AAA Tigers (2-4) have two road games this weekend.

U16

The U19 Hounds had one game over the weekend, falling 8-4 to the CBHA Hawks.

Cole Hodgins had a goal and two assists, Jaxon Martin tallied a goal and an assist and Gavin Perry scored a solo tally. Kian Lang had two helpers and Connor Schmaltz made 43 saves in the loss.

The U16AA Hounds (0-6) are off until Nov. 2.

U18

The U18AA Hounds finished with a draw and a loss over the weekend.

The Hounds finished 0-0 with the Central Alberta Selects on Saturday and lost 6-3 to the CNHA Black on Sunday.

Kolter Gans made 17 saves for the Hounds in the draw.

Against CNHA, Gans made 31 saves in the loss. Mavric Ward had a goal with an assist and both Joey Clarke and Jaxon Scrivener scored for the Hounds.

The U18AA Hounds (2-3-0-1) host the Wheatland Chiefs on Saturday before a road contest Sunday.
