One individual has been arrested in Bow Island, and RCMP have seized a a substantial amount of cocaine, methamphetamine and proceeds of crime. Bryan Judkins, 73, has been charged with multiple offences, including possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking, possession of methamphetamine for the purpose of trafficking and possession of property obtained by crime. RCMP conducted four search warrants on Oct. 17 at a business, residence and two vehicles in the town. “The Bow Island RCMP is focused on community safety, and by arresting individuals involved in the trafficking of illegal drugs it has prevented these harmful substances from hitting the streets. This arrest helps ensure Bow Island and the County of Forty Mile remains a safe community. Drug trafficking is extremely harmful, especially in small communities, that can jeopardize our neighbourhood’s well-being and put innocent people at risk, this type of illegal activity will not be tolerated,” said Sgt. Alan Rivard, Bow Island RCMP detachment commander. The investigation began in September following community concerns about drug trafficking in the region. Judkins was released from custody to await his next scheduled court appearance on Jan. 8. 6
