Minor hockey roundup: U17AAA SEAC Tigers split weekend action

The Medicine Hat U17AAA South East Athletic Club Tigers went even on the weekend.

The Tigers won the weekend opener, beating the Calgary Royals 5-1 on Saturday.

Carter Allan and Treyden Kleinknecht each had a goal and an assist, and all three of Vann Boiteau, Arlo Heal and Nolan Peppler found the back of the net. Kayden Van Ham made 21 saves.

They lost the second game of the weekend, falling 3-2 to the Calgary Bulls on Sunday at the Hockey Hounds Arena.

Matteo Sartore and Illya Khazov each scored a goal and Carson Jerome made 32 saves.

The U17AAA SEAC Tigers (1-3) are off until Oct. 26 and 27 for a pair of road games.

U18

The U18AA Medicine Hat Hounds won the lone game of the weekend, beating the CBHA Hawks 3-2 on Saturday.

Slade McFadzen scored twice and Owen Gustafson scored as well. Both Randen Collier and Tate Bowal each had two assists. Kayne Wright had 37 saves.

The U18AA Hounds (2-2) hosts the Central Alberta Selects on Saturday for a 3:15 p.m. contest at the Kinplex before heading on the road Sunday.

U16

The U16AA Hounds had a pair of games this weekend.

They lost 3-1 to the Okotoks Oilers on Saturday and 4-3 to the Airdrie Lightning on Sunday.

Alexander Schabler scored the Hounds’ lone goal in Saturday’s loss, Connor Schmaltz made 37 saves.

Grayson Jong scored twice and Logan Potvin added a tally in Sunday’s defeat to Airdrie. Treyton Wilson made 49 saves.

The U16AA Hounds (0-5) are on the road Saturday.

U15

The U15AA Hounds had one game this weekend, a 2-2 tie with the East Kootenay Avalanche on Friday.

Beckham Girletz had a goal and an assist and Maddox Mikkelson found twine, Bryden Tschritter made 24 saves.

The U15AA Hounds (1-2-0-2) are on the road Saturday before hosting the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Sunday for a 3:15 p.m. contest at the Hockey Hounds arena.
