Overnight frost expected in region

Medicine Hat was at risk of overnight frost last night, according to Environment Canada, and will be Wednesday as temperatures could fall as low as 1C.

The note was issued on Monday afternoon as forecasts in the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains pointed to frost from Rocky Mountain House to Claresholm.

The cool weather system was expected to spread as far east as Brooks and Medicine Hat, where an overnight lows of zero and 4C were expected, respectively.

That could have resulted in patchy frost.

Daytime temperatures are expected to rise again for the weekend with highs in the mid to high 20C-range.
