A look at the key dates on the Tigers’ 2024-25 schedule

The 59th Western Hockey League season has arrived and there are a number of dates that stand out for the Medicine Hat Tigers in their 68-game schedule.

The Tigers’ 55th season gets underway Saturday night when they host the Edmonton Oil Kings at Co-op Place.

The defending WHL champion Moose Jaw Warriors are at Co-op Place on Oct. 5.

The Tigers host the B.C division this year, starting with the Vancouver Giants at Co-op Place on Oct. 12. The Prince George Cougars are in town on Oct. 16, Victoria Royals on Nov. 15, Kamloops Blazers and former Tigers’ forward Oren Shtrom on Feb. 22 and Kelowna Rockets on March 4.

Teddy bears will fly on Dec. 7 when the Tigers host the Edmonton Oil Kings for the Medicine Hat News Teddy Bear Toss night.

Western Hockey League action will pause for Medicine Hat as they observe their Christmas break from Dec. 19-26.

The Tigers’ longest road trip of the season, the U.S. division visit, will be after Christmas, Jan. 24 to Feb. 1, starting against the Spokane Chiefs.

They face the Tri-City Americans on Jan. 25, Wenatchee Wild on Jan. 28, Everett Silvertips on Jan. 29, Portland Winterhawks on Jan. 31 and Seattle Thunderbirds on Feb. 1.

They’ll host the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Family Day (Feb. 17) for a 2 p.m. contest. That is the only afternoon game at Co-op Place this season.

Fan appreciation night is Mar. 22 at Co-op Place against the Hurricanes. Tigers end the season the next night in Calgary, a Sunday afternoon contest.
