Prairie Gleaners will use CFSEA grant for new dehydrator

By Medicine Hat News on September 18, 2024.

The Prairie Gleaners society will not only be able to continue operations but expand them thanks to the generosity of the community.

The Community Foundation of Southeastern Alberta awarded the gleaners a $10,000 grant in May of this year, which has been earmarked for one of four new dehydrators used to dry vegetables.

The Gleaners would also like to express gratitude to Medicine Hat High School’s Philanthropy in Youth Group and Crescent Heights High School’s Leadership Group for their respective donations of $600 and $620.

“The money from these two schools has gone into our general funds to help keep the lights on at the plant in order for us to be able to help feed the hungry of the world due to the food insecurity issues around the world,” the Prairie Gleaners said in a release.
