news@medicinehatnews.com Hockey and ringette players are invited to attend an on-ice skills development session as public schools close for the year’s first division-wide professional development day on Sept. 20. The one-hour session will help students sharpen their skills in stick-handling, shooting, puck and ring skill and power skating by a team of seasoned coaches. “We will have a team of elite coaches to develop skills to help players reach the next level,” states a press release. The session will take place in the morning between 9 and 11:15 a.m. and will cost $51.25, which includes a processing fee. The camp will be open to all students who play hockey aged U9, U11, U13 and U15, as well as all students who play ringette aged U10, U12, U14 and U16. The camp is also open for net-minders. Currently you can register your student online by visiting the Medicine Hat Public School Division’s website and visiting its ‘News’ section. Space is limited for the skills development sessions and a registration email will be sent to confirm student ice time within two business days. For more information contact program co-ordinator Ken Dzikowski at 403-526-2392, or email at 76academy@sd76.ab.ca. Three additional division-wide professional development days are scheduled in 2024 that will occur on Oct. 11, Nov, 8 and Dec. 13. 11
