news@medicinehatnews.com More than 30 years after graduating from Top Gun, U.S Navy Cpt. Pete ‘Maverick’ Mitchell returns to action in the 2022 film that will be screening in the REDI Enterprises Society’s parking lot as the non-profit is hosting a free movie night Friday that includes free snacks and a drink while supplies last. The society provides programs and services to help people living with disabilities find employment and volunteering opportunities by collaborating with community partners like mental health outreach, local police or probation officers and community and charitable organizations. To raise awareness about its services and volunteers, REDI’s Action Group received a micro-grant from the City of Medicine Hat to host the outdoor movie event for the community. The Action Group is an advocacy group made up of the society’s clients, and promotes increased interaction between the community and people with disabilities. The film will be projected on the side of the red REDI building located at 860 Allowance Ave. at 8:30 p.m. Friday. The free outdoor movie includes snacks and a drink that will be provided on a ‘first come, first served’ basis and guests are asked to bring their own seating and donations are welcome. 8
