Brooks man hit with charges, big fines after motorcycle stunt in Lethbridge

A Brooks man has been charged for dangerous driving after Lethbridge police say he drove his motorcycle at 140 kilometres per hour between lanes of cars on Mayor Magrath Drive on Saturday.

Police say the vehicle was seen weaving in and out of heavy traffic and split lanes at about 9:30 p.m. that night.

Brendan Campbell, 25, of Brooks, was charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and was released after appearing before a justice of the peace.

He was also issued a series of traffic tickets, totalling $1,200 for operating a motorcycle without the proper licence or registration, having an improper muffler, reflectors, licence plate, turn signals and broken head lamp. The bike was impounded.

He is scheduled to appear in court on Sept. 23.
