@MedicineHatNews A Hat man remains in hospital, unable to communicate with lawyers, one month after police were injured in a standoff, court heard Tuesday. Cole Scory, 30, was arrested and charged with four counts of attempted murder on July 27 after police said a shotgun blast injured officers at a Southwest Hill apartment complex. At that time, Scory was reportedly injured while being arrested taken to hospital in Calgary. The Alberta Serious Incident Response Team opened a review on Aug. 2. Since then, six appearances at docket court at Provincial Court of Justice have been adjourned by duty counsel lawyers, who say they have no contact with the accused or any way to receive legal instructions. Crown prosecutors said the most recent information they have on the man’s condition places him in the intensive care unit. Justice Mark Mastel granted an adjournment request to bring the matter back later this week, but told lawyers that the court requires more clarity about Scory’s medical situation considering the seriousness of the charges. 8
