As community members build up an appetite by making their way through the fairgrounds at Whoop-Up Days, there are many food options to curb hunger.
Many local food trucks from around southern Alberta are participating in Whoop-Up Days with several of them having specialty menu items for attendants to enjoy.
These food items ranged from savory to sweet and even some things to cool down with.
Corn Dog Express has Takis corndogs in both Blue heat and guacamole flavours for the adventurous corndog and chip lover, while the buffalo wing and grilled cheese lover can get the best of both worlds with a buffalo chicken grilled cheese from Melt Down Grilled Cheese.
For those wanting something refreshing, they can get a Chamoy and Tajin fruit cups, a cup of watermelon and frozen mango topped with Chamoy and Tajin which give it the perfect zing.  Jerry’s Pop Shop and Yum Cha Bubble Tea both have specialty drinks for visitors to quench their thirst.
Mavel Bredas, owner of GMP homemade taste, a Filipino food truck which adds a Japanese twist to their dishes says fairs such as Whoop-Up days is a great opportunity for people to try new foods.
“Keep exploring, don’t stop exploring different foods from different nationalities,” said Bredas.
While there are many new combos to try as Whoop-Up days, it was evident with the Jumbo Ears line, the classics will never go out of style. In about two hours of being open, they had sold over 200 elephant ears. They were going quicker than the workers could make them.
