@MedicineHatNews The Hat was the hottest spot in the province Wednesday as temperatures climbed to 38.3C at 6 p.m. that day, and not far behind was Irvine (38C) and Seven Persons (38.1C), according to Environment Canada. Medicine Hat just missed setting a new record for July 24, set in 2023 at 38.9C. Heavy heat blanketed the region, including Acadia Valley (37.1C), Atlee (36.6C), Bow Island (34.9C), Brooks (36.4C) and Vauxhall (35.7C). Havre, Mont. recorded a temperature of 107F, nearly 42C, at 4 p.m. on July 24, according to the U.S. National Weather Service. Coronach, Sask. was the hotspot in Canada for the day when mercury rose to 41.2C in the town south of Assiniboia, near the boarder with Montana. All of southern Alberta, aside from Cardston, and all of Saskatchewan were under heat warnings Thursday, though cooler temperatures were expected Friday (in the high 20C range) and especially in the overnight hours. 8
