Contractors removed eight large spruce trees in the northwest corner of Central Park this week.

Portions of the park were closed on Wednesday and Thursday.

Work is also proceeding in the park on the Southeast Hill to seed areas around sprinkler heads and lines that were replaced in 2023, forcing the park’s closure to the public for most of the summer.
