Medicine Hat News
The town of Redcliff is under a boil water advisory, utility official in the town next to Medicine Hat announced on Sunday.

The advisory, issued on July 14, will remain in place until further notice as workers flush and test water.

Redcliff operates its own water treatment plant and potable water delivery system. There is no apparent effect on City of Medicine Hat water users.

The announcement comes after “an emergency” at the town’s treatment facility that led to calls for Redcliff residents to immediately reduce water use. No immediate explanation was available. The plant resumed operations in the late afternoon, but the town’s spray parks and aquatics facilities remained closed.

A boil water advisory asks water users to bring water used for drinking, cooking, brushing their teeth, washing food and sponge-bathing infants and young children be brought to a rolling boil for one minute then cooled before use.

Dishwashing should include an amount of bleach.

More information is expected on Monday.
