A 35-year-old man accused of robbing a city convenience store has been released from custody pending the outcome of his case.
Kirk Douglas Timm was released on bail Thursday during a brief hearing in Lethbridge court of justice. Timm, who appeared in court by CCTV from the Lethbridge Correctional Centre, did not require a bail hearing and was released with consent of the Crown. He must, however, adhere to several conditions, which were not read aloud in court.
Timm is charged with one count of robbery stemming from an incident at about 11:30 a.m. on June 18 when a man walked into the Circle K convenience store in the 2700 block of Mayor Magrath Drive South. He told the clerk he had a weapon and fled with a number of items.
Police initially published a surveillance video photo of the suspect and requested the public’s assistance in identifying him. On July 4 they announced he had been identified and arrested, and was waiting to have a judicial interim release hearing.
Timm was represented Thursday by an agent for Lethbridge lawyer Greg White, and the matter adjourned to Sept. 5.
