Work on schedule for aquatic park upgrades

asmith@medicinehatnews.com During the public portion of Monday’s Public Services Committee Meeting, updates on the ongoing maintenance and upgrades to the Big Marble Go Centre’s Aquatic Centre were given. Managing Director Brian Stauth shared that the work is happening apace and is on schedule, with the previously projected opening date of the aquatic park, Sept. 15, still holding. Much of the work is happening “below decks,” said Stauth, such as important maintenance and replacements, and may not be visible to visitors when the facility re-opens; however, it is largely planned and vital work to keep the space operating well. He added that they appreciate the cooperation and understanding of the City’s swim clubs and those seeking swimming lessons, who have been accommodated at other pool facilities throughout the city. 6-5
