EVELYN STAHL April 3, 1926 ~ June 24, 2024
Evelyn Virginia Stahl, beloved wife of the late Alfred Stahl, passed away at South Country Village in Medicine Hat on Monday, June 24, 2024, at the age of 98 years. She is survived by her children, Loretta (Don) Doig, Gordon (Mary) Stahl and Valerie (Brett) Bischoff; nine grandchildren and thirteen great- grandchildren. Evelyn was predeceased by her parents, Ben and Rosie Schwab; son, Vernon and daughter-in-law, Margret. Evelyn and Alfred retired to Medicine Hat from farming in the Golden Prairie district. After Alfred’s passing, Evelyn took her amazing domestic skills and worked for We-Care Health services for over 25 years. When she retired, she moved into the condos at Chinook Village. She took immense pride in her home and had one of the best views in the city! Evelyn enjoyed such activities as shuffleboard, cards and puzzling. Sundays were often spent with her granddaughters, Jolene and Kimberly and eventually her great-grandchildren, Aubrey, Brydon and Camden. Family was so important to Evelyn. She cherished her memories of holidays where her loved ones were all under one roof. She did well on her own for many years before moving to Sunnyside Care Facility two years ago. The family would like to give their heartfelt thanks to the compassionate and caring staff at Sunnyside for their excellent and consistent care. A Celebration of Evelyn’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901-13 Street. S.W., Medicine Hat, on Monday, July 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor Lance Duncalfe officiating. Interment will follow at Prairie View Cemetery with a time of fellowship to be held thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at

ARTHUR RENTON 1929 – 2024 Arthur William Renton, beloved husband of Patricia Renton, passed away to be with his Lord on Saturday, June 29, 2024, at the age of 95 years. He his also survived by Lyle and Donna, Morgan and Kathryn, granddaughters, great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews in England. Arthur was born on June 6, 1929, at Greengates Farm in Yorkshire, England to his parents Reginald and Mary Renton. He was predeceased by his parents and sisters Kathleen Harrison and Hazel Little. Arthur and Patricia moved to Canada in 1982, and settled in Vauxhall, Alberta where he worked as a ditch rider for the Bow River Irrigation district until his retirement. He was an avid collector of vintage vehicles and enjoyed his many projects working on his acreage just outside of Vauxall. Arthur was active in his church and he lived a life that reflected his commitment to his faith. Family and friends who wish to pay their respects may do so one hour prior to the service. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Friday, July 5, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Dan Doerksen officiating. DARREN BECKER
DARREN BECKER April 8, 1976 ~ June 30, 2024 Darren James Becker spent his final days in the ICU of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital before passing away on Sunday, June 30, 2024, with family by his side. Darren leaves behind his loving mother, Linda Becker and his brother, Leroy Becker (wife, Neilly and their two sons, Haidyn and Qwyn). He also leaves behind his two daughters, Jordyn Geldreich (husband, Ben and their daughter, Lennon and son, Jagger) and his youngest daughter, Brooklynn Becker. He was predeceased by his father, Roy James Becker in 2020. Darren was born at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on April 8, 1976, to Roy and Linda Becker. He found his calling early in life with livestock and spent the majority of his career with South Island Feeders. When not working, Darren enjoyed golfing with family and friends, Special gratitude and thanks is extended to the Bow Island Health Care team and the Medicine Hat Hospital’s ICU division for their attention, care, emotional support, kindness and professionalism toward the Becker family. Darren’s life will be honoured and his memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal service.
