Colorado Avalanche centre MacKinnon wins Hart Trophy as NHL’s most valuable player

LAS VEGAS – Colorado Avalanche centre Nathan MacKinnon is the winner of the Hart Trophy as the NHL’s most valuable player for the 2023-24 season. He received 137 first-place votes and was a top-two selection on 184 of 194 ballots. Tampa Bay’s Nikita Kucherov was second in the voting and Edmonton’s Connor McDavid was third. MacKinnon scored 51 goals and had 89 assists for 140 points this past season. He also won the Ted Lindsay Award, which honours the most outstanding player in a poll of the NHLPA’s membership. 6-5
