WHL unveils preseason schedule, regular season schedule to be announced today

The Western Hockey League has started to roll out the calendar for the 2024-25 season.

The league announced its 47-game preseason schedule Monday, with contests starting Sept. 3 and wrapping Sept. 15.

The Medicine Hat Tigers kick off their four-game preseason on the first day of action, heading down Highway 3 to face the Lethbridge Hurricanes in a Tuesday night game.

They host the Calgary Hitmen at Co-op Place on Saturday, Sept. 7. The Tigers then head to Red Deer on Friday, Sept. 13 for a preseason rematch of the first-round series last season.

The Tigers wrap the preseason with a Sunday afternoon contest, hosting the Hurricanes on Sept. 15 at 4 p.m.

The WHL’s regular season schedule will be announced today at 11 a.m. Medicine Hat is set to open the season Saturday, Sept. 21 at home against the Edmonton Oil Kings.
