The Medicine Hat Mavericks are back in Alberta after starting the week on the road.

The Mavs had three games in Saskatchewan this week, picking up a lone win in three games. After an 11-3 loss Tuesday at Weyburn to the Beavers, the Mavs won 15-7 Wednesday at Moose Jaw over the Miller Express.

The Mavs lost the final game of the road trip, falling 5-4 in the 10th inning Thursday to Moose Jaw.

They remain in second place of the East division, with a 12-8 record, sitting three games behind the first-place Regina Red Sox.

The Mavs hosted the Swift Current 57’s on Friday and are on the road Saturday, taking on the West division’s Lethbridge Bulls. They’re back at Athletic Park on Sunday to face the Sylvan Lake Gulls.

Ahead of Sunday’s game, the Mavs are hosting the annual Battle of the Badges softball match between the Medicine Hat Fire Service and Medicine Hat Police Service.

Ticket’s to the charity game are available at Station 2 or the police station for $12, with proceeds going to the Root Cellar and Wellness Hub. Those tickets also grant admission into the Mavs’ game.
