The Medicine Hat Tigers announced their fourth and final signing from the annual prospects camp last weekend.

The Tigers announced the signing of forward Noah Alexander from Winnipeg.

The 15-year-old was selected 105th overall in May’s draft after putting up 37 goals and 65 points in 32 games with the Winnipeg Wild of the WAAA15 League in Manitoba.

Head coach and general manager Willie Desjardins described Alexander as a hard working player.

“He’s a guy who will play hard every shift, he won’t take any shifts off, you’ll see this guy every night working hard,” Desjardins said. “He’s another guy, those type of players (who) help you win. They’re the guys you win with in the end and he’ll be a guy that you can always count on in those tough games.”

Alexander says his game relies on his speed for success.

“My shot, my skills with my hands, I like to move the puck in with speed so definitely my speed is my main factor,” Alexander said.

He models his game around NHL stars Connor McDavid and Nathan MacKinnon and despite being a Winnipeg product, Alexander will be cheering on his Edmonton Oilers in the finals starting Saturday against the Florida Panthers.

When his name was called on draft day, Alexander was out for breakfast while attending Team Manitoba tryouts in Brandon. He says heroes were eased when he saw his name on the draft day ticker, making his breakfast of toast, bacon and fruit taste that much better.
