The Colts opened play Wednesday with a 6-2 loss to the Catholic Central Cougars. JJ Harnett threw four innings, allowing two earned runs on four hits and two walks while striking out four Cougars batters. Cole Carlson pitched the final two innings in relief, giving up three earned runs and recording one strikeout. Fischer Haysom led the offence with two hits, including a double and two RBIs. Matt Fritzler also hit a double and Mace Carriere chipped in with the only other hit for McCoy. They bounced back with a 9-0 win over the Magrath Zeniths. Haysom led from the mound, with a complete-game shutout, allowing four hits and six walks while striking out 11. Fritzler led the offence with three hits, including a double and two runs scored. Easton Kurpjuweit and Pryce Velichko each had two hits, and Carriere and Tate Bowal had two RBIs apiece. The varsity Colts finish their season 5-2 and will wait for the rest of the league schedule to be completed before a first-round playoff opponent can be determined. 10
