newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews In honour of the International Day Against Homophobia and Transphobia, the Prairie Pride Guild of Medicine Hat and District is inviting residents to come and do some public good. The guild is hosting a cleanup of Finlay Bridge and Riverside litter on Friday, beginning in front of Scherer Manor 154A First St. NE at 6 p.m. The day, celebrating when the World Health Organization removed homosexuality from its list of mental illnesses, is an opportunity to raise awareness among the general public about the issues faced by 2SLGBTQIA+ people and to take action to make the world more inclusive of sexual and gender diversity, the guild says. Prairie Pride chose the date to hold space and raise awareness for the occasion and to contribute to their community, and would like to invite 2SLGBTQIA+ people, allies and anyone looking to help out the city they live in to come and participate in the cleanup. 6
