Moose Monarchs take pair of weekend games versus Saskatchewan teams

The Medicine Hat Moose Monarchs had two home games over the weekend.

The Monarchs hosted the Saskatchewan Zone 7 and the Moose Jaw Canucks on Sunday at Athletic Park, winning both contests.

They beat the Saskatchewan team 16-6 with Jeff Bullock’s three RBIs and two runs scored with a hit leading the offence. Ryler Straarup and Cade Moch each had two runs scored, two RBIs and a hit. Kayne Olisnki and Cade Harrison tallied two RBIs with a hit and a run scored.

On the mound, Harrison worked 3.1 innings with seven strikeouts before handing the ball to JJ Harnett who pitched 2.2 innings with three punch-outs.

The Monarchs carried the momentum into their second game, beating Moose Jaw 6-5.

Aidan Eckersall led the Medicine Hat offence with two RBIs on three hits. Olinski drove in a run with two hits and Harrison tallied a lone RBI with a hit. Parker Hunt crossed the plate twice, also picking up two hits.

Bullock started the game for the Monarchs, recording nine strikeouts in five innings pitched. Straarup and Moch each picked up a strikeout while both pitching an inning.
