The Monsignor McCoy JV Colts earned a split of a doubleheader in Okotoks on Sunday. The JV Colts faced off against the Foothills Falcons in Southern Alberta High School Baseball League play. The first game took an extra inning with the JV Colts defeating the Falcons 5-3 in 8 innings. Nixon Kunkel pitched five innings allowing just two unearned runs on two hits and two walks while striking out seven batters. Liam Cunningham pitched the final three innings in relief, holding the Falcons to just one run, earning the win. Jayden Mook and Kylan Mailhiot led the offence with two hits each. The Falcons offence exploded in the second game, pounding out 15 hits and defeating the McCoy JV squad 18-1. Tegin Stienley and Dylan Nelson had the only hits in the game for the JV Colts. The McCoy JV Colts hold a record of 4-2 on the season and their next action is tonight when they face the first-place Vauxhall Vikings. First pitch is slated for 5:30 p.m. at Athletic Park. 7
