newsdesk@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews The Monsignor McCoy JV Colts swept both ends of a doubleheader Tuesday against the Eagle Butte Talons. McCoy JV won the first game by a score of 10-5. Nixon Kunkel earned the win on the mound, striking out seven batters over 3.1 innings. Jayden Mook threw 2.2 scoreless innings to earn the save. Offensively, the JV Colts were led by Liam Cunningham who had two hits, including a double, and four RBIs. Dylan Nelson had three hits with two runs scored and James Cole had two hits and two runs scored. Nixon Davis had two hits with an RBI for the Talons. In the second game, James Cole earned the 10-6 victory on the mound. Cole pitched four innings allowing three earned runs and striking out four batters. Aaron Recio earned the save pitching the final 1.1 shutout innings, striking out three batters. Cunningham, Kunkel and Ethan Grad had two hits apiece for the JV Colts, and Mook and Recio had three RBIs each. Ty Meyer had three hits and three RBIs, and Ward Davies had two hits for Eagle Butte. The JV Colts now have a record of 3-1 on the season. Their next action is Saturday when the McCoy JV squad travels to Okotoks for a doubleheader against Foothills Composite High School. 9
