sports@medicinehatnews.com@MedicineHatNews Medicine Hat’s Twist and Flips Gymnastics Club put their talents on display against Alberta’s best this weekend in Calgary. The local gymnastics club sent three athletes to the 2024 provincials held at the Olympic Oval in Calgary. Ian Mwaura (11) and Isaac Mwaura (9) represented the club in the men’s provincial level 1 groups in their age categories. Ian was 12th All-around and placed ninth on Pommel Horse, 11th on Parallel Bars and High Bar, 13th on Floor, 14th on the Vault and 15th on Rings. Isaac was eighth All-around and placed third on High Bar, fourth on Vault, tied for sixth on Floor, finished seventh on Parallel Bars and ninth on Pommel Horse and Rings. Lukas Young (13) competed in the men’s Provincial Level 3 category for ages 13 and older. Young was 16th All-around and received ninth place on the Pommel Horse, 15th on High Bar, 17th on Rings, 20th on Vault and Parallel Bars and 21st on Floor. 9
