OSHAWA, Ont. – Luke Torrance’s goal at 8:16 of the third period snapped a 4-4 deadlock and lifted the Oshawa Generals to a 5-4 win over the visiting Barrie Colts in Ontario Hockey League playoff action on Sunday at Tribute Communities Centre.

Matthew Buckley, with two power-play goals, Beckett Sennecke and Dylan Roobroeck also scored for the Generals, who tied their first round, best-of-seven series at 1-1. Calum Ritchie and Luca D’Amato each had two assists.

The Colts won the series opener on Friday 4-2.

Riley Patterson scored twice for the Colts, while Beau Jelsma and Bode Stewart added singles. Cole Beaudoin and Kashawn Aitcheson each chipped in with two assists.

The teams were tied 2-2 after the first period and the Generals led 4-3 heading into the third. The Generals outshot the visitors 37-28.

The Generals went 2-for-3 on the power play, while the Colts were 1-for-6.

Oliver Peer scored twice and added an assist for the Firebirds, who lost Friday’s series opener 3-0. Coulson Pitre and Nathan Aspinall also scored for the Firebirds, who were outshot 38-22.

Frankie Marrelli, Samuel Mayer and Braeden Kressler also scored for the 67’s, who led 2-1 after the first period and 4-2 heading into the third.

Floria Xhekaj, Calvin Crombie and Patrick Thomas scored for the Bulldogs, who won Friday’s series opener 5-2.
