The Fury were away Saturday with only eight players available to take on the Cochrane Rockies and Calgary NW. They opened the weekend with a 12-7 win over Cochrane and then went on a few hours later to defeat Calgary NW 9-6. The Fury’s goals were scored by Ally Martin, Olivia Ulbricht, Peyton Howes, Kassidy Etienne, Brinley Cross and Annabelle O’Reilly. Evangeline Robins was in net for both games. The Fury will be in action again in four weeks for regionals in Lethbridge. The U12 Royals hosted the Bow View Blizzards on Saturday at the Moose. The Royals were down 3-0 in the first five minutes of their game but fought back for a 6-6 draw. Haven Ward scored five goals and Rielle Forsyth added a solo marker. Arika McDowall, Rhya Weinberger and Abigaelle Parasiuk each recorded assists. The Royals won their second game against the Blizzards, beating them 5-4 to record their first win of the season. McDowall had two goals and each of Forsyth, Jorja Sadler and Katie-Lee Sehn added solo markers, with Sehn tallying the game winner. Grace Stirling stood tall in net for both games. Next up for the Royals is regionals March 22-24 in Foothills. U10 The U10 Step 3 Gators were in Lethbridge this weekend for rescheduled league games. The Gators dropped the first game to the Rattlers. Sloan Loehndorf made 20 saves between the pipes and Zoe Aarden scored the lone goal. With the rematch against the Rattlers later in the day, the Gators fought hard, ultimately falling 5-2. Zayda Dawson stood tall in net making 17 saves. Goals were scored by Aphten Myram and Isabelle Perrault. The Step 3 are back in action for the final time this season on home ice next weekend against Airdrie. 16
