The local ringette team won both games of a doubleheader, beating Calgary North West 5-2 and 7-3. Mackenzie Tindall led the scoring in the first game with two first-half goals. Hannah Thompson, Savannah Savoy and Natasha Unreiner all added single markers in the win. In their second win, Kayla Robinson, Sophie Kerr and Kasey Martin each scored twice and Tindall added a solo marker. Kyree Stern-Rebmann was between the pipes in both wins. The Live Wire are on the road Sunday to face Airdrie. U16 The Medicine Hat Mercury hosted the first-place Rise team featuring players from Indus, Strathmore and Rockyford for a double header on Sunday. In the first game, the Mercury came out strong with a 3-1 lead after the first period before falling 11-3. Ryleigh Jackiw, Leighton Wright and Erika Want each scored. In their second game, the Mercury again led early but ultimately lost 11-5. Jackiw had two goals and an assist, Margot Kerr, Wright and Want each scored as well. The Mercury are on the road in Calgary Saturday for a double header against South Calgary. U14 The Medicine Hat Mayhem travelled to Calgary on Saturday to play a double header against Calgary North West. Calgary North West took the first game 11-6. Medicine Hat’s offence came from two players, Brea Butterfield with four goals and Lacey Gibney with two of her own. In their second game the Calgary North West won 9-2. Butterfield scored both goals with assists by Jordyn Leblanc and Kristyn Want. The Mayhem are off to Regina this weekend for the Queen City Classic Ringette Tournament. U10 The U10 Step 1 Gators finished the weekend on a high note on Saturday. The U10 Gators will be back home at the Moose for another game in a few weeks. The U10 Black team was in Strathmore this weekend. They faced Airdrie, Strathmore and South Calgary, with Blaire Dirk racking up five goals over the three games. Adelynn Mckinley and Maizee Trotter each tallied three goals and Jayla-Rae Klaudt had two of her own. Their next games are scheduled for Feb. 10. The U10 Step 3 Gators had two home games this weekend against Foothills. The Gators had two goals from Charlie Lowe, but ultimately lost 3-2. Brylee Dirk stood tall between the pipes. In their second game, the Gators were only able to find the back of the net with a goal from Dirk. Zayda Dawson was in net. The Gators are off to Regina this weekend for tournament play. 27
