MH Squash Association hosting Pro-Am tournament

The Medicine Hat Squash Association will host its annual Pro-Am this month.

The local squash group is holding the 2024 professional squash tournament Jan. 25-28 at the Medicine Hat Family YMCA.

The tournament will host a number of professionals from around the world as well as amateur players from Alberta and Saskatchewan.

The event will also feature four wildcard players invited into the tournament, including Noah Richter from Regina and Saskatchewan’s third-ranked Isaiah Richter.

Rohan Paliwal, the 2023 Canadian Junior U17 champion and current No. 1 Canadian U17 player, as well as Alex Steward, a member of the Barbado’s Jr. National team and Grade 11 student in Medicine Hat have also been invited.

Pro matches begin Jan. 25 from 1 p.m. onwards, 2-6 p.m. Jan. 26, with the semifinals on the Jan. 27 from 3-5 p.m. and the finals on Jan. 28 at 2 p.m.

The amateur event will start at 6 p.m. on Jan. 26 and continue through the weekend.

Spectators are welcomed for the weekend’s action.
